As an officer of the Foreign Service of Pakistan, he has served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad in various posts over 35 years including as Special Secretary and Acting Foreign Secretary. He was posted in Pakistan Embassies/Missions in Belgrade, New York, Paris, Riyadh, Chicago, Prague and Mexico City. He was Ambassador of Pakistan to the Czech Republic, United Mexican States, Belize, Republic of Guatemala, Republic of El Salvador, Republic of Costa Rica and Republic of Panama.

Having more than 27 years of experience in social sector, she is currently working in Aga Khan Rural Support Program. She has served on different positions including Head of women & development section, coordinator enterprise, gender manager in Aga Khan Rural Support Program.
